Busnoys, Antoine
(Busnois, De Busnes)
(c. 1430, probably near Busnes, France – before 6 November 1492, Bruges)
   Known mostly for secular songs, he composed about 18 motets and other polyphonic liturgical works. One of his two masses uses the tune L’homme armé as a cantus firmus, perhaps the first of 40 such by Guillaume Du Fay, Josquin Desprez, and other leading composers of his generation.
